Shower Wall Construction
1.
Measure the actual ADA barrier-free shower floor
prior to building or modifying the stud wall
framework to determine the exact size required.

Add 1/8” to width measurement (A) and at least 1/8”
or more to depth measurement (B) of the shower
floor to correctly size the framework opening.
3.
When constructing or modifying stud wall
framework, make sure to install (gang) multiple
studs, as shown above, to provide support for any
required moisture-resistant wallboard, solid surface
panel attachment flanges, filler boards, shower
doors, etc.
Shower Floor Installation
If the floor is not level and flat, the shower floor must be
set in a bed of mortar to provide adequate support, as
described in Step 9. Install the shower floor using a
mortar mixture or an equivalent material, such as
thinset. If the floor is perfectly level and flat, you may
proceed directly to Step 10.
1.
Dry fit the shower floor making sure there is a 1/16”
gap around the edges and to ensure a proper fit.
2.
Remove the drain cover located over the trench
drain. Do not discard or lose this cover.
