Installation Instructions for Engine Oil Cooler Kit’s #15902 & 15903
Installation Hints
1. The oil cooler core relies on airflow to provide heat dissipation. The best cooler location in the
vehicle is where the cooler will receive airflow from both vehicle motion and the cooling fan.
Ideally it should be mounted in front or behind the radiator but other locations with sufficient
airflow will also work. Be careful to protect the cooler from flying objects or any other moving
parts.
2. Keep rubber hoses away from sharp edges, hot exhaust and other wear points. Be careful not to
bend hose less than 5” radius (a small coffee can). Keep hose runs as short as possible but
always rough cut hose lengths 2” longer than measured for insurance

Sandwich Adapter Installation
Sandwich adapter fits between oil filter and engine
block. Before removing oil filter, check clearance
between filter and any obstructions such as frame
rail or exhaust pipe. The adapter is 1 3/4:” thick so
you will need at least 2 1/4” of clearance. If there
is insufficient clearance is found, refer to chart
below for a shorter length filter.
6 Remove oil filter and clean oil off engine
block mounting surface.
7 Install brass hose barbs on adapter
casting. Use Teflon tape to seal threads.
8 Take the five threaded sleeve-nuts. Find
the sleeve-nut that will thread into your oil
filter, this is the one to use.
9 Set the o-ring supplied onto the sandwich
adapter. Apply a light coat of engine oil to
o-ring seal. Slide sleeve-nut into adapter
and install on engine with o-ring facing
engine block. Adapter can be rotated for
ideal hose routing location. Torque sleeve-
nut to 20 foot pounds.
10 Install oil filter.
