PLAYBACK

With the V.MODE button you can change the video output without using the setup settings. The

sequence is:

TV-RGB —> P-SCAN —> S-Video —> Interlace YUV —> TV-RGB

By using a SCART connection the picture quality changes slightly but visible during pressing the

V.MODE button.

Important Note by using 3-wire component cable with progressive Scan (YUV PSCAN or Y
Pb Pr):
If you uses 576p with an 3-wire component cable and you press the V.MODE button the picture
disappears from the screen. Don’t worry about it, because you can restore the picture by pressing
the V.MODE button more times. Please wait several seconds after one pressing the button before
you press again the V.MODE button. After three-times pressing a picture shall be appear on the
screen.

Important Note by using 3-wire component cable with progressive Scan (YUV or Y Cb Cr):

Your TV set doesn’t support PSCAN!!!

If you uses 576i with an 3-wire component cable and you press the V.MODE button the picture
disappears from the screen. Don’t worry about it, because you can restore the picture by pressing
the V.MODE button more times. Please wait several seconds after one pressing the button before
you press again the V.MODE button. After three-times pressing a picture shall be appear on the
screen.


Notes:

By using a HDMI connection the V.MODE button has no influence on the picture quality.

In case of no picture on the screen, please control the cable connection between HSD 8550
and the TV set. If all cables are connected successful, please install an CVBS video
connection between DVD-Player and TV. Change by the TV set to the AV or CVBS input
and the picture shall be appear on the screen. Than you can set the video output of the
DVD-Player until your current connection has a picture again.

If you have connected the device using an HDMI or a 3-pin component cable, you can also use the
upscaling feature of the device. Support will be an output up to 1080p. To change the resolution,
you can press the button RES HD without visiting the actual setup menu. The change sequence is

YUV(S-VIDEO/RGB/P-SCAN)->720p->1080i->1080p->YUV(S-VIDEO/RGB/P-SCAN)



When changing to higher resolutions of 576p a security prompt appears on the screen. If your TV
supports 720p or more, so you can confirm this.

If the change in time but no image (black) appears, press the HD RES button until a picture is
visible.
