1. In order to install your custom hood panel it will be necessary to separate the
windshield washer supply tube and remove the hood and place it on a sturdy
blanketed table. With the hood removed and set upside down remove the
factory hood liner and the two bolts holding the hood catch. NOTE: These bolts
will not be reused.
2. Once you have removed the factory hood liner you can now begin installation.
Wipe off the entire underside of the hood with a damp cloth to remove any and
all loose dirt. Then using household rubbing alcohol clean the hoods inner
perimeter and also the inner perimeter of the rectangular shape in the very
center of the hood. Once this step is complete apply a single swipe of adhesive
promoter provided to perimeter of the center recess and let dry.
3. Starting with the center hood panel insert area apply 4 or 5 piles of clear
household silicone directly to the center of the hood. Next remove the red
release liner from the back of the center hood insert and firmly press the panel
into position.
4. Once the center hood insert is complete place the large hood panel into the
hood and center it so that it looks nicely positioned. Using a scratch awl mark all
the screw whole locations to the hood. Then remove the large hood panel.
5. Using a 9/64
th
drill bit carefully pilot all the locations that you just marked. BE
ESPECIALLY CAREFUL NOT TO POKE THE HOODS OUTER SKIN!! Once all of the
holes have been piloted apply a small glob of 100% clear household silicone onto
the hood sub frame around the screw areas but NOT directly at the newly
piloted holes as it will cause the silicone to ooze out the holes in the new panel
creating a mess. Reinsert the large hood panel making sure that you line up all
the piloted whole locations. Then fasten by placing the 6 washer head screws
provided thru a nylon washer provided. NOTE: There are 2 screws a little larger
these will be used at the 2 center locations. These screws are NOT to be
completely tightened they are used strictly to give the hood panels center
support so just simply snug them. TECH TIP: Apply a little super glue to the
threads of the screws before inserting them to keep them snug. Snap on the
chrome screw covers at all locations.
6. Finally place the small upper hood cap into position and reattach the hood catch
bar using the 2 Allen head screws provided.
