1. Remove the two bolts on either side of the factory header plate. NOTE: These bolts will
not be reused. Remove the factory black plastic header. NOTE: This will also not be
reused.
2. You have been provided with two small self stick brackets. In order to place these
brackets where they go it will be necessary to temporarily place the header piece into
position. NOTE: The header plate is designed to slip under the hoods safety release
handle. It may be necessary to forcefully bend the handle upwards enough to allow the
panel to slip under the release handle. Pull the plastic grille section forward enough to
allow the new stainless header to slip into the factory groove that the factory header
plate came out of. Once this is done you will be able to see where to mark the area on
the front side of the radiator support on both the left and right side of the center notch
of the header. These are the locations where you will be mounting your brackets. Once
you have marked the header plate level to the radiator support, remove the stainless
header plate.
3. With the header plate out of the way mount the two brackets into position by first
wiping the area clean of any dirt or grime with household rubbing alcohol then swipe
the areas with the adhesive promoter provided. Once the surface preparation is
complete simply peel the release liner from the brackets and press the brackets firmly in
position to set.
4. With the two brackets set firmly in place reposition your new header plate so that it
rests on top of the brackets that you just installed and under the hood release handle
that you adjusted earlier. Align the two holes in the header plate with the two factory
bolt locations and gently fasten the new header plate using the two stainless Allen head
bolts provided. Be sure NOT to OVERTIGHTEN as this will cause the header plate to
warp. Remove protective liner.
Note: Care must be taken when cleaning your panel. It is a good idea to lightly dust your
panel with a clean soft cloth first in order to prevent any particles from scratching it.
Then wipe (using a new clean soft cloth) with a good quality streak free glass cleaner.
If any questions occur during installation, please contact American Car Craft at
727-861-1500.
Thank you and enjoy your new panel.
