2. You will notice two rubber grommets securing the air tube to the factory radiator cover via
two plastic studs. These studs are a two part retainer removable by pulling the round top
plunger from its base which will allow you to pull the stud assembly out completely.
3. Carefully position the new cover by placing it over the factory air tube as you slide it under
the two air tube ears and line up the holes in the new cover with the holes on the factory
radiator cover that you just exposed. At this time you will check the shape and overall fit of
the new cover. Although the new cover comes to you pre-shaped it may be necessary to
adjust the fit by hand so that the new cover sits nicely under the front nose section and flat to
the factory cover.
4. With the cover nicely fitted in position reinstall the two factory air tube retainer studs by
placing them directly thru the new cover into the factory cover and forcibly resetting the
center plunger to lock the new cover in place. Then simply reattach the factory air tube.
PLEASE NOTE: For the C6 2008 Models we have provided a self stick retainer to replace
the third offset retainer on the air capacitor. Simply remove the factory retainer completely.
Once the new cover is in place set the self stick retainer in place of the original atop the new
cover by removing the red release liner from its base and setting it into the air capacitors
grommet. Once in place press down on the air capacitor to set the new retainer onto the new
covers surface.
5. Remove the protective liner.
Note: Care must be taken when cleaning your cover. It is a good idea to lightly dust
your cover with a clean soft cloth first in order to prevent any particles from
scratching it. Then wipe (using a new clean soft cloth) with a good quality streak
free glass cleaner.
