Introduction: This new hood panel kit is our finest and most innovative design to date. It offers a high tech
performance look yet is light weight and still offers an adequate thermal barrier.
Liner Information: Your new accessories will come to you with a protective surface liner. Leave this liner in
place until the installation is complete to prevent finger prints and or possible scratches during installation.
1. For this installation you will need to remove the hood. Prepare a sturdy table insulated with a soft
blanket to protect the paint. You will need the assistance of two other friends to secure both sides of
the hood as you remove the four hood bolts and gas hood props. The first step to do this will be to
mark the bolt washer to the hood hinge using a silver marker. Marking the four locations will make it
possible for you to reinstall the hood in its exact alignment making an accurate reinstallation very
simple. With the help of two friends holding both sides release the hood struts by lifting the small clip
at the head of the strut and let it fold down. Then remove all four bolts. Unclip the hood lights
electrical connector then place the hood face down onto your table. Remove the hoods thermal pad.
At this time inspect the hood to see if it has been thoroughly painted at the factory. Often you may
need to paint some barren areas to achieve the best looking end result.
2. Now that the hood is exposed. Scrub the 1” borders that surround each of the insert areas with the
abrasive pad supplied. This will allow a good adhesion. Each of the panels is designed to be
permanently bonded in place with CLEAR 100% pure silicone. Do not attempt to use any other form of
adhesive. Before you attempt to install any of the inserts take a minute to set each section in place to
check the overall shape and fit. Although the inserts have been sent to you pre-shaped it will be
necessary to further shape each panel to create a nice perfect contour to the hood. Once you have
achieved a nice contour apply a tall bead of silicone to the entire perimeter of each section then
carefully set each panel in place and allow the silicone to set overnight. It takes about twenty-four
hours for the silicone to completely cure. It also will help to weight the two larger sections down in
order to insure a nicely contoured bond.
