1. Surface Preparation: Your new cover is designed to attach to your existing stock fuel rail covers via Velcro tape. PLEASE
NOTE: If silicone treatments have previously been applied to your fuel rail covers please refer to the special
preparation instructions attached. If silicone treatments have not been applied then continue by first removing all road
dirt and grime with soap and water. Then scrub your fuel rail covers along the entire most inner corner with household
isopropyl alcohol. (This is where your new plenum cover will sit). Let dry then wipe same area with the adhesive
promoter (provided).
Your new cover has 2 Velcro strips of attachment tape on its underside. Remove the one side from both strips and set
aside for a moment. Place your new cover on top of the factory fuel rail covers and line up so that it appears nice and
straight and tucked under the back gasket ridge.
The next step is to place a length of masking tape on either side of the new plenum cover directly onto both factory
fuel rail covers. By doing this will indicate where the new cover will sit.
Next apply the Velcro hook strips along the inside edge about 1/4 inches inside of the tape edge you just placed and
press firmly to set. Remove the masking tape.
Now you can install the new cover by simply pressing into position. It may be necessary to slightly lift and nudge the
new cover in order to achieve a nice straight fit.
INSTALLATION TIP: Although this procedure should not be necessary with a clean and proper installation you may apply 2
or 3 rivets thru the Velcro into your factory fuel rails on both sides to insure that the Velcro stays in place.
Installation procedure for the Lighted Version: This part of the installation is relatively easy but will take a little more time ….
1. The first step will be to create a 12v source for your new cover. This will require you to choose a good location for a switch. We
recommend that this be placed directly through the black plastic battery shroud. This will make it very easy to use the switch and tap
the batteries positive and negative posts to supply your new cover with a reliable power source. (The switch and fuse are not
included.) Route your new power source through the top right corner of the battery shroud and work the supply wire to the back of
the engine and up to the back corner of where the new cover will set. The new cover comes to you with a quick disconnect plug for
you to separate and attach to your newly routed supply lead.
2. In order to achieve the full effect of the lighted plenum cover you will need to create a reflective surface for the light to illuminate
on. To do this you will need to color the factory plenum, in this procedure apply two strips of three inch masking tape directly to the
inner edges of the factory fuel rail covers creating a nice straight line at the fuel rail covers edge. Thoroughly scrub clean the
composite plastic plenum with alcohol to remove any and all road grime and dirt. Take a few minutes to make sure that you have
done a very thorough job with this preparation as this will insure that color will go on nice and perfect the first time. Now that the
plenum has been nicely masked and cleaned spray some automotive chrome paint (not included) directly to the plenum. Do this
with several thin coats allowing each coat to dry before applying the next one. Generally silver or chrome paint dries to the touch
relatively fast but you should take your time to insure that each layer goes on nice and even. Allow to completely dry, remove
masking tape then plug in you new lighted cover and set it to the Velcro attachment strips applied earlier. Flip you switch and behold
and awesome special effect.
Note: Care must be taken when cleaning your cover. It is a good idea to lightly dust your cover with a clean soft cloth first in order to
prevent any particles from scratching it. Then wipe (using a new clean micro fiber cloth) with a good quality streak free foamy glass
cleaner.
