actual body line will be close enough for you to be able to project this body line forward to
create a start point. SEE PICTURES BELOW
3. Pull the release liner as you also pull the trim in a nice straight line along the entire length of
the vehicle. Be careful not to pull too hard and stretch the trim as this will cause a very
undesirable shrinkage problem long term creating gaps at the door seams. Lay the trim in a
straight continuous line until you reach the end of the front door on the opposite side of the car
and cut it there. Then set the point of the trims other end at the same start point on the other
side of the hood and run back to the door seam to match the line of the trim.
4. Before any of the other seams are cut carefully set the trim by gently and slowly pressing it to
the cars surface first so as not to cause the trim to slide off its straight positioning. Once you
have set the trim in this gentle fashion first then you can firmly set the trim with more pressure
to secure the bond.
5. Using a common strait razor blade press the blade into the trim at each body gap. Be careful
not to push to hard or to deep so you won’t damage your paint. Because it is the nature of this
trim to shrink slightly to a point you will want to cut the trim at the exact edge of the body gaps
so that when it does shrink and stop the trim will have about 1/16 to 1/8 back space to any
given body gap.
