.2 Principle of operation
VEGAWELL
51
is used for level measurement in vessels and
for gauge measurement in deep wells, e.g. in water/sewage
water applications.
1)
T
he actual sensor element is the CERTEC
®
measuring cell
with rugged ceramic diaphragm. The hydrostatic pressure
causes a capacitance change in the measuring cell via the
ceramic diaphragm. This change is converted into an
appropriate output signal.
T
he CERTEC
®
measuring cell is also equipped with a
temperature sensor PT 100 in four-wire technology. The
resistance value can be gripped via the wires of the
suspension cable. The power supply or the processing is
carried out via a temperature sensor, e.g. in the VEGABOX 02.
T
wo-wire electronics 4 … 20 mA/HART for power supply and
measured value transmission over the same cable.
T
he supply voltage range can differ depending on the
instrument version.
D
ata for power supply are specified in chapter "Technical
data".

.3 Operation
VEGAWELL
51 - 4 … 20
mA/HART can be adjusted with
different adjustment media:
l
an adjustment software according to FDT/DTM standard,
e.g. PACTware™ and PC
l
W
ith a HART handheld
T
he kind of adjustment and the adjustment options depend on
the selected adjustment component. The entered parameters
are generally saved in the respecitive sensor, when adjusting
with PACTware™ and PC optionally also in the PC.

.4 Packaging, transport and storage
Y
our instrument was protected by packaging during transport.
I
ts capacity to handle normal loads during transport is assured
by a test according to DIN EN 24180.
1)
F
or use in closed vessels under vacuum, VEGAWELL 51 is available with
absolute pressure measuring ranges.
