Beginning in June 1984, a new Spicer housing design was phased into current production axles. Spicer will continue to service older style housings
until inventories are exhausted. Then service part orders will be filled with the new current service part number.
Check the Housing I.D. number on your metal tag (see drawing). Locate this number in column 1 or 2. Order
part numbers in column 3 or 4 only. When older design axle housings are replaced with current parts, the
vehicle manufacturer should be contacted to ensure that the proper spring seats and hardware are used.
