Shown below is a quick reference chart for power divider cover castings for both “pump” models and “non-pump” models.
SERVICE ASSEMBLY INFORMATION
INSTALLATION OF THE ONE-PIECE (120080) “PINION SUPPORT BEARING”
The pinion support bearing 120080 is a one-piece roller bearing. With this design there is no separate bearing race or
snap ring that requires removal or installation. All installation and removal procedures for this one-piece bearing are
otherwise the same as called out in the service manual AXSM-0044.
POWER DIVIDER TO CARRIER INSTALLATION
Follow the procedures detailed in the current AXSM-0044 service manual. The power divider installation procedure in
general is no different for the new one-piece bearing design than for the old three-piece bearing set up. The new style
power divider carriers are machined such that the one-piece roller bearing will seed into the machined pocket with no
additional adjustments or procedures required.
NOTE: Old style parts and new style parts are not interchangeable due to their inherent design features. Check to
make sure you are installing the correct parts when repairing your axle. Older style power divider covers can be visually
identified by the existence of a snap ring groove in the machined bearing pocket inside the cover. The covers with this
groove must use the older style bearing parts shown below.
