*Notes: When you are storing the pump between uses it is best to remove the hose
from the pump so that when you roll it up you don’t start a crimp that restricts water
flow. Try to roll it up without crimping.

When you plug the pump in and drop it in any water source you should get a strong
stream- at least 20 feet. If you do not, your hose is crimped, the debris strainer is
stopped up with moss, mud or whatever, or you have a poor electrical connection or
weak battery. The pump will generate more power if your engine is running at a fast
idle.

Try it at home, pumping from a bucket or an ice chest, to see how strong it is so you
will know what to expect on the trail. If you expect to use it to wash your radiator,
figure out the best approach while still at home. Some Polaris radiators are easiest to
clean if you remove the front rack by taking out 4 screws and washing from the top
down.

Be careful washing a hot engine with ice-cold water from an ice chest. Though I
have washed an overheated radiator with melted ice when no other water was
available, I was nervous about it and do not recommend it.

The pump will run fine without your engine running and draws only 4 amps. If you
use it for an extended period, start the engine occasionally.

The pump will pass fine particles but works best from relatively clean water. If it
slows down you may need to clean the strainer
