Navigator therapy – GE Healthcare Navigator Applications Suite User Manual
Page 4

Navigator Therapy helps bring balance to anesthesia
management. It collects data from infusion pumps, the
patient monitor and the anesthesia delivery system and
applies predictive pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic
modeling to that data. By helping you visualize the modeled
effects of anesthesia drugs and their interactions, decision
support is enhanced.1
• Displays modeled pharmacokinetic (PK) and pharmacody-
namic (PD) effect for IV and inhaled anesthetic, analgesic
and muscle relaxant drugs in a clear, intuitive graphical
display
• PK/PD models for 11 intravenous drugs and 6 inhaled
drugs support clinical anesthesia practise
• Displays the modeled synergistic effect of six inhaled
anesthetic drugs and four analgesic drugs
• Displays the modeled synergistic effect of propofol and
four analgesic drugs
• Visualizes modeled current and future effect site
concentrations (Ce)
• Automatically captures inhaled anesthetic drug data to
display modeled pharmacokinetics and modeled effects of
the drugs
• Connects to a wide range of infusion pumps to help
minimize manual drug data entry
• Shows measured Entropy and BIS values in the sedation
graph
• Connects to approved GE patient monitors and provides
two-way communication to IT systems
Navigator Therapy
Drug titration
Drug synergy displays show the
modeled effects and possible
interactions of the administered
drugs. This can help you balance
your delivery of hypnotics and
analgetics.
Prediction
Navigator therapy supports clini-
cians with valuable, relevant mod-
eled information that can be used
together with the monitored param-
eters and current patient status to
support your evaluations and the
value or impact of the therapy.
Patient safety
Navigator Therapy helps indicate
incorrect data entry and visualizes
drug interactions in seconds based
on published patient models.
