Choosing Blue Ox® is like having a baseplate custom-made for your vehicle. Our baseplates are easy
on your suspension and even easier on the eye. We’ve designed them with hidden reinforcement.
We do not offer a one-size-fits-all support system, but rather a system that is shock absorbing and
integrated into the individual bumper frame or unibody with the bumper design of your vehicle. Our
philosophy is to let the baseplate torsion, or flex, similar to receiver hitches allowing the baseplate to
absorb the forces of towing rather than rigidly transferring the forces to the frame of the vehicle. It
truly is just like having a baseplate custom-made — only faster.
Competitive models have an exposed cross support beam that protrudes from the bumper. That
method increases the weight you’re carrying, takes longer to hook up and also exposes the baseplate
to potential damage from curbs. As the photo below indicates, our baseplates don’t detract from your
vehicle’s appearance.

All Blue Ox® baseplates include electric rods for mounting the electrical receptacle and have
convenience links for easily attaching towing safety cables. Safety cables for attaching the baseplate
to the car also comes standard for added security. Newer model baseplates have breakaway brackets
provided for mounting your emergency breakaway system.
All Blue Ox® tow bars will fit Duncan brackets, and vice versa. Adapters may be required. All Blue
Ox® baseplates come with a three year warranty.
