Gyro II / GyroLight

Use only genuine RIDGID accessories for best

results.

IMPORTANT! Before storing or transporting the self-

levelling laser, always lock the pendulum to avoid

permanent damage to the pendulum mechanism.

Preparation for use

Check the RIDGID self-levelling laser for any

damage.

The set contains (Fig. 1):

For Gyro II:

• 1 RIDGID self-levelling laser

• 3 size AA-batteries

• 1 pair of laser glasses

• 1 level holder

• 1 protective carrying bag

Raise the battery cover and position the 3 AA (Gyro II)

and AAA (GyroLight) batteries as shown see Fig. 2.

For Gyro Light:

• 1 RIDGID self-levelling laser

• 1 carrying bag

Using the self-levelling laser without tripod.

Place the level on a flat surface to within +/- 5°.

Unlock the pendulum mechanism, by rotating the base

of the laser by selecting the “unlock” position, indicated

on the base of the Gyro laser. (Fig. 3)

Wait for the “auto-check” to finish the levelling action

(flashing stops), and push the appropriate H or V

button to switch on the laser. (Fig. 4)

H: Horizontal projection

V: Vertical projection

The pendulum action on the RIDGID self-levelling

laser will level itself automatically within 5 seconds;

during the levelling action the projection will flash

continuously until the laser has levelled itself.

No other action is needed to set the RIDGID self-

levelling laser correctly.

The RIDGID Gyro II self-levelling laser comes

complete with a level holder, this level holder is

specially designed to position the self-levelling laser

onto a tripod or attach it to a wall. (Fig. 5).

Professional surveyors tripods are available as

accessories.

All RIDGID tripods have been designed specifically

for the RIDGID laser programme and we recommend

using only RIDGID tripods for the best results.

Using the self-levelling laser in combination with a

RIDGID tripod Screw the level holder to a RIDGID

tripod (cat n° 27731 & 74206) (Fig. 6) using the 5/8”

thread connection and place the RIDGID self-levelling

laser into the level holder.

Raise the tripod by opening the 3 clamps on the

feet, and pull out the legs until the required height is

reached (Fig. 7). Close the clamps whilst making sure

that the bulls-eye vial in the tripod is centred.

Place the RIDGID self-levelling laser into the level

holder and operate in the same way as without tripod.

Note: the Gyro Light needs adaptor 89126 to allow

mounting on the RIDGID tripods.
