2-2. Typical Applications
Web-Smart Switch implements 24 Fast Ethernet TP ports with auto MDIX + 2
Gigabit dual media ports with SFP/GBIC for removable module supported
comprehensive fiber types of connection, including LC, BiDi LC for SFP and LC/SC,
BiDi LC/SC for GBIC. For more details on the specification of Web-Smart Switch,
please refer to Appendix A.
The switch is suitable for the following applications.
⎯ Central Site/Remote site application is used in carrier or ISP (See Fig. 2-11)
⎯ Peer-to-peer application is used in two remote offices (See Fig. 2-12)
⎯ Office network(See Fig. 2-13)
Fig. 2-11 is a system wide basic reference connection diagram. This diagram
demonstrates how the switch connects with other network devices and hosts.
