4.1.4 Disabling
Autodial
A browser is typically set to dial into a user’s ISP connection automatically when the browser is launched. In
order to access the Internet through your “always-on” ADSL line, the autodial feature must be disabled.
Dial-Up Settings
Your Connection dial-up setting must be set to Never dial a connection. Follow this procedure to verify and/or
change your dial-up setting:
1. Click
Start > Settings, click Control Panel.
2. From
the
Control Panel screen, double-click Internet Options.
3. The
Internet Options screen appears. Click the Connections tab.
4. In
the
Dial-up settings box, make sure that the option button for Never dial a connection is selected.
(If you have not yet set up any connections, the Dial-up settings box will be dimmed (grayed-out).
5. Click
OK.
