REMOTE GAIN
The remote gain port allows remote, user control over the output of the amplifier. When used on a
subwoofer amplifier, the remote gain allows you to change the bass level for different music styles, driving
conditions, or sonic preferences. Unlike other designs, Orion allows remote access to the level of the
amplifier via a digital micro-controller and electronic volume that does not interfere with the sonic signal
chain. The result is a clean clear control of the level of the amplifier that is unaffected by noise.
The XTREME 600.4 has two remote gain ports. This allows for individual control of either the front or rear
channels. One RGC-1 can be used to control the level of the front channels and another RGC-1 can be used
to control the output level of the rear channels. An example benefit of this is having the front channels in
bandpass mode for midbass and the rear channels in low-pass mode for subwoofers. Using two RGC-1 would
give the driver the ability to control the level of both the midbass and subwoofers for easy optimal tuning.
To utilize this function simply plug-in a RGC-1into either the front or rear gain ports. The RGC-1 is available
from your authorized ORION dealer. T
XTREME amplifiers have separate front and
rear level adjustments. The input sensitivity
of these adjustments range from 200mv up
to 5Vrms on the RCA inputs. This allows easy
integration from any source unit either with
RCA outputs or speaker outputs. Refer to
the Testing the System and the Adjusting
the Sound of the System sections for
detailed instructions on setting up the level
controls.
