the number. The phone beeps

the handset’s index card with a

you want to change it later).

6. Repeat Steps 1-4 to store and

record other telephone numbers.

call, begin again at Step 1 to store
the number.

• To change a stored number, store

a new one in its place.

Storing a Pause

In some telephone systems, you must
dial an access code (9, for example)
and wait for a second dial tone before
you can dial an outside number.

You can store the access code with the
phone number. However, you must
also store a pause after the access
code to allow the outside line time to
connect. To do so, press

#

at the ap-

propriate place to enter a 3-4 second
pause. For a longer pause, press

#

ad-

ditional times.
