2.2 Handling Precautions
• Before turning the power on, ensure that the carriage lock is in the
unlocked position ( ). When transporting the scanner, turn the
carriage lock to the locked position ( ) to avoid damaging the
internal optical assembly (see section 2.5).
Remarks
• Keep the unit horizontal, with the document cover facing upward,
and ensure that it is placed on a flat and stable surface for use.
Failure may result if the unit is not used in a flat and level
horizontal position.
