3-1 Number of engines or tanks is wrong
Check that the number of engines and
tanks is correct (see section 14-4).
3-2 Fuel flow(s) seem inaccurate:
a Check that the fuel setup data is correct
(see section 14-4).
b Check that the fuel cable connectors
are securely plugged in and the collar is
locked in place. Check the fuel cable is not
damaged or pinched.
c A fuel sensor may be blocked.
A fuel filter must be installed between
the fuel transducer and the fuel tank as
described in the sensor installation manual.
Otherwise the warranty is void.
d Recalibrate the fuel flow sensor(s) (see
section 10-7).
e Check that the fuel filter is clean.
f In rough seas, fuel may surge back and
forth through the fuel sensor(s), resulting in
incorrect readings. Try installing a one-way
valve between the fuel sensor(s) and the
fuel tank.
g Petrol/gasoline fuel sensors should be
replaced after every 5000 litres of fuel.
3-3 Fuel remaining seems inaccurate:
a The TRACKER is not wired for auto power
(see section 15-4).
b You added or removed fuel but did not tell
the TRACKER (see section 10-3).
c The fuel tank may not refill to the same
capacity each time due to air pockets. This
is a particular problem with underfloor
tanks.
3-4 Erratic fuel flow readings:
a The Flow filter value is not suitable for the
engine. Check that the value is not set to
zero, then try increasing the value until a
steady flow rate is shown (see section 14-4).
b The fuel flow sensor(s) may be too close
to the fuel pump or may be subject to
excessive vibration. Refer to the fuel sensor
installation manual.
c Check for leaks in the fuel line or in the fuel
pickup in the tank.
3-5 There is no reading for fuel economy:
a The boat must be travelling through the
water to have a reading.
b If you selected a paddlewheel sensor (see
section 10-5-1), check that the paddlewheel
spins freely.
