Set the SB-30’s power switch to the ON or STBY position.
• When set to the STBY position the Standby function is activated. (p. 8)
• The Standby function does not work with COOLPIX digital cameras having no hot-shoe contacts. In this
case, set the SB-30 to the ON position.

Make sure the ready-light comes on.
• When the ready-light lights up, the SB-30 is fully recycled and ready to fire.

Set the SB-30’s power switch to the OFF position when not in use.
• Be sure to set the SB-30’s power switch to the OFF position when not in use to conserve battery power.
