Preferred

- Your dealer can program a list of “preferred” net-

works into your phone (which includes your Home system). If so,
your phone tries to use the Home system, then the strongest
available network in this list. If not, the phone will try to use a net-
work that is the same “type” (A or B) as your Home system, then
a network of a different “type”.

Check with your dealer to see if your phone has been pro-
grammed with a list of “preferred” networks to use. You can still
choose this option even if it hasn’t; your phone will use only net-
works of the same “type” as your Home system.

Non-Preferred

- Your phone will choose a network that is

of a different “type” than your Home system.

Any

- The phone first looks networks of the same “type” as

your Home system (A or B). Then it looks for networks of a
different “type”.

Home Only

- The phone only looks for service on the Home

system. It won’t choose any other network, so if you’re out of
your Home system, you won’t have service (
