Troubleshooting guide
Before requesting service, make the following checks. If you are in doubt about some of the check points, or if the remedies indicated in the chart
do not solve the problem, refer to the “Customer Services Directory” on page 54 if you reside in the U.S.A., or refer to the “Product information” on
page 55 if you reside in Canada.

≥The unit may not be operating properly due to lightning, static electricity or some other
external factor. Turn the unit off and then back to ON. Alternatively, turn the unit off,
disconnect both AC power supply cords, and then reconnect them.
≥Condensation has formed: Wait 1 to 2 hours for it to evaporate.

Turn the unit off and on again. — Cannot operate the VHS. ≥Press [VHS] to switch the remote control mode to VHS. ≥The unit is in timer recording standby (“F” is on on the unit’s display). ≥The remote control and main unit are using different codes. Change the code on the remote control. — 34 Cannot operate the TV. ≥Press [TV] to switch the remote control mode to TV. ≥Check the TV maker setting. — 16 Cannot operate the DVD. ≥Press [DVD] to switch the remote control mode to DVD. — Television reception worsens after ≥This can occur because the signals are being divided between the unit and the television.
