OFF:
Recommended mode when Closed Caption is not being
used.
C1:
For video related information that can be displayed (up to 4
lines of script strategically placed on the television screen
so that it does not obstruct relevant parts of the picture).
C2:
Another mode used for video related information.
Recording and Playing Back a Closed
Caption Program
Record:
Record normally. Closed Caption signal, if present, is recorded
automatically.
Playback:
Start playback. Perform steps to select desired caption mode.
NO:
A narration will not be displayed when MUTE button is
pressed for silence.
C1 or C2:
A narration of selected TV programs is displayed when
MUTE button is pressed for silence.
CC
ON MUTE
Displays the On-Screen Closed Caption when the MUTE button
is pressed. To delete the closed caption, press the MUTE button
again.

MODE
Displays the On-Screen Closed Caption.

NORMAL/NORMALIZE
Select “NORMALIZE” and press ENTER to return each MODE to
the factory default setting.
Notes:
• “NORMAL” means the MODE is in the factory default setting. “NORMAL”
changes to “NORMALIZE” when you change the setting of BASS,
TREBLE, BALANCE, SURROUND, D.ENHANCER or AUDIO LEVELER.
• You can normalize each MODE separately.
MODE
You can also change “MODE” by pressing AUDIO MODE on the
Remote Control.
AUTO
Automatically adjusts for a wide Dynamic Range.
STANDARD
Emits the original sound.
DYNAMIC
Gives contrast to sound.

BASS, TREBLE, BALANCE, SURROUND,
D.ENHANCER
You can change the level of each sub-menu (BASS, TREBLE,
BALANCE, SURROUND, D.ENHANCER) for each MODE
(AUTO, STANDARD and DYNAMIC) according to your personal
preference.
BASS
Adjusts low frequencies.
TREBLE
Adjusts high frequencies.
BALANCE
Adjusts left and right volume.
SURROUND
To enjoy a concert hall effect.
D.ENHANCER
The volume of the center channel is raised to make
dialog easier to hear. (DVD playback only)
