Sending a fax using the JOG DIAL directory
1 Open the document feeder tray.
2 Adjust the width of the document guides to the size
of the document.
3 Insert the document (up to 15 pages) FACE
DOWN until a single beep is heard and the unit
grabs the document.
Display:
4 If necessary, press repeatedly to
select the desired setting (see the bottom of
page 41).
5 Rotate until the desired name is
displayed.
Example:
● To confirm the number, press .
6 Press .
Example:
● The unit will start transmission.

● If the desired name has not been stored, press
and dial the number manually.
To store the name and number, see page 37.
● For further details about using the JOG DIAL, see
page 39.
● If your fax does not transmit, press and
then repeat steps 5 and 6. Verify that the number
dialed is answered by the other party’s fax machine.

Sending Faxes
Helpful hints:
● To confirm the items stored in the directory, print a
telephone number list (see page 91).
● The connecting tone will be heard during dialing to tell
you the status of the other party’s machine (see
page 55).
