Setting the General preferences
The General Preferences screen enables you to set the auto shut-off interval,
alarm options and sounds for your CLIÉ handheld.
Setting the automatic shut-off time
Your CLIÉ handheld has an automatic shut-off feature that turns off the
power after a period of inactivity. This feature helps conserve battery power
in case you forget to turn off your CLIÉ handheld. If you find that your CLIÉ
handheld shuts itself off too early or too late, you can increase or decrease
the time setting for the automatic shut-off feature.
By default, your CLIÉ handheld will turn off after two minutes of inactivity.

Tap General from the drop-down list on the Preferences
screen.
The General Preferences screen is displayed.

Tap the arrow V next to Auto-off After and select the desired
time setting for the automatic shut-off feature.
You can select 30 seconds, 1 minute, 2 minutes, or 3 minutes.
If you want your CLIÉ handheld to stay ON while it is connected to
the cradle (not supplied) or the plug adapter (PEG-SJ20/PEG-SJ30
only)
Make sure that the check box next to “Stay on in Cradle” is selected. To have
it turn off automatically, clear the check box.
