Facts & Tips
• Read about location numbers in the
chapter about your phone book (p. 12)
• USSD
(Unstructured
Supplemen-
tary Service Data) is a feature com-
pletely defined by your network allow-
ing direct communication between
you and your network. An example of
a USSD could be that entering a cer-
tain code of digits and/or letters termi-
nated by a
#
tells your network to
send you a scale of charges.
• The survey at p. 12 tells you how to
find the different characters on your
phone’s keypad when you want to
write e.g. a USSD or a new welcome
greeting.

Dial mode
Dial mode allows you to choose
between the following two fea-
tures. These two features cannot
be active at the same time, and
selecting one of them will automat-
ically deactivate the other:
Speed dialling Activate »Speed
dialling« to make it possible to call
any numbers in your phone book
just by using the location number.
Press the location number for one
second, and the call will be initiated
automatically. If the location num-
ber consists of more than 1 digit,
press the first digit(s) and hold the
last digit for one second.
Text dialling Activate »Text dialling«
to set the phone in alpha mode.
This enables you to enter a USSD
with both letters and digits instead
of only digits. Remember that a
USSD must always be terminated
by pressing the # key and then
»CALL«.
Greeting
Make a welcome greeting on your
phone according to your own wish-
es. Delete the old greeting, if any,
by holding down »CLEAR«, enter
the new greeting via the keypad
and confirm by pressing »OK«.
(This function may not be available
on all networks).
