W1730 Oscillating Edge Sander
The spindle connector connects the shafts from the
motor to the gear box and is secured by two set screws
that need to be tightened every time the gear box oil is
filled (every 500 hours).
To secure the spindle connector set screws, do these
steps:
1. Refer to Lubrication Steps 1 -3 on Page 23 to
remove the gear box cover
2. Tighten the set screws shown in Figure 35.
3. Reinstall the gear box cover.

The eccentric on the Model W1730 is connected to the
shaft by a set screw. This set screw needs to be tightened
every time the gear box oil is filled (every 500 hours).
To secure the eccentric set screw, do these steps:
1. Refer to Lubrication, Steps 1 -3 on Page 23 to
remove the gear box cover.
2. Tighten the set screw on the eccentric, shown in
Figure 36.
3. Reinstall the gear box cover.
