DON’T FORGET: USE AUTO ISO MODE
A flash going off may alert people to you taking pictures and spoil the
moment. Instead turn on Auto ISO to prevent the flash going off.
Market places are the cross-roads of life and
are ideal for photo expeditions. From candid
shots of smiling stallholders, locals and
tourists using a longer focal length, to close-
ups of exotic foods, colourful fruit and the
repeating patterns of clothing with your wide-
angle lens. It’s also a chance for interactions
with locals that can make great little movie
memories. Markets can also look superb if
taken from a high vantage point looking down
to capture the whole scene, juxtapositioning
the hurly-burly of activity against the calm of
the surrounding buildings – particularly if a
night market.
