Access the G-
CODE
Program screen.
● If the number you entered is invalid, “ERROR” appears on the
TV screen. Press & and input a valid G-
CODE number.
● If the “G-CODE/SHOWVIEW SETUP” screen appears, see
“ATTENTION” on page 33.

Set the tape speed.
Press SP/LP/EP ( p).
● Select the appropriate colour system with “PAL/MESECAM”
and “NTSC”. (

Return to the normal screen.
Press PROG or OK. “PROGRAM COMPLETED” appears
on the TV screen for about 5 seconds, then the normal
screen appears. If “PROGRAM OVERLAPPED” appears
on the TV screen, see page 38.
● Repeat steps B – F for each additional programme.
G
Engage the unit’s timer mode.
Press # (TIMER). The unit turns off automatically and
“ #” appears on the front display panel.
● To disengage the timer mode, press # (TIMER) again.
NOTES:
● To Change The Stop Time:
— press STOP +/– after pressing OK in step D. You can
compensate for anticipated programme schedule delays.
● To Timer-Record Weekly Or Daily Serials:
— after pressing OK in step D, press WEEKLY (number key
“9”) for weekly serials or DAILY (number key “8”) for daily
serials (Monday — Friday). Either “WEEKLY” or “DAILY”
appears on the TV screen. Pressing the button again makes the
corresponding indication disappear.
● You can programme this unit to timer-record as many as 8
programmes. If you try to programme the unit to record a
ninth, “PROGRAM FULL” appears on the TV screen. To record
the extra programme, you must first cancel any unnecessary
programmes. (

Make sure the channel position number you wish to record is
displayed; if not, see “G-
CODE ™/S HOW V IEW ™ System Setup”
on page 31 and set the Guide Program number correctly.

Satellite Receiver Users
To timer-record a satellite broadcast using the G- CODE /
S HOW V IEW system:
A Perform steps A – G.
B Set the satellite receiver to the appropriate channel before
the selected programme begins.
C Leave the satellite receiver’s power on.
ATTENTION
Guide Program Number Set
“G-CODE/SHOWVIEW SETUP” appears after performing
step
D if the Guide Program number for the G-
CODE number
you entered has not been set.
Press
rt or the number keys to input the channel position
number on which your unit receives that station, then press
OK or
e to set the Guide Program number. The G-
CODE
Program screen appears.
(Example)
To timer-record a RTR
programme with the G-
CODE
system.
* If your unit receives RTR on the
channel position 2, press OK or
e after entering “2”.
