There is a scanning
mechanism failure.

The unit scans,
communicates
and beeps twice.

The same symbol
timeout set too short.

Adjust same symbol timeout for a
longer time.

The unit powers
up, but does not
scan/or beep.

The beeper is
disabled and no tone
is selected.

Enable the beeper and select a
tone.
