BIOS Setup
Auto Disable PCI Clock
This item is used to auto detect the PCI slots. W hen set to [Enabled], the system will
remove (turn off) clocks from empty PCI slots to minimize the electromagnetic inter-
ference (EMI).
CPU Shutdown Temperature
If the CPU temperature reaches the upper limit preset in this setting, the system will be
shut down automatically. This helps you to prevent the CPU overheating problem.
This item is available only when your OS supports this function, such as W indows
ME/XP.
Chassis Intrusion
The field enables or disables the feature of recording the chassis intrusion status
and issuing a warning message if the chassis is once opened. To clear the warning
message, set the field to [Reset]. The setting of the field will automatically return to
[Enabled] later.
Cool ’n’Quiet
This feature is especially desiged for AMD Athlon processor, which provides a CPU
temperature detecting function to prevent your CPU
’s from overheading due to the
heavy working loading.
CPU FAN PIN Select
Be sure to select the correct pin number identical to the pin of the CPU fan you
purchase.
Smart FAN Target
The mainboard provides the Smart Fan system which can control the fan speed
automatically depending on the current temperature to keep it with in a specific range.
Smart FAN Tolerance
You can select a fan tolerance value here for the specific range for the “Smart Fan
Target ” item. If the current temperature of the fan reaches to the maximum threshold
(the temperatures set in the “Smart Fan Target” plus the tolerance values you set
here), the fan will speed up for cooling down. On the contrary, if the current tem-
perature reaches to the minimum threshold (the set temperatures minus the tolerance
value), the fan will slow down to keep the temperature stable.
