Channel Scanning
By using
SCAN
, you can monitor channels and codes for transmissions and lock
in on the one that interests you.You don’t have to set a new channel or code,
the radio just resets itself temporarily to that channel and code and you can
start talking. However, if no transmissions take place for five seconds, scanning
resumes.
After you turn on
SCAN
, your radio scans channels and codes until it finds an active one and
locks on to it. If you do not begin talking or no one else transmits within a short time, it will
resume scanning.
If you want to scan channel frequencies without interference eliminator codes, change your
code to
0
.
Turning on Channel Scanning
To set channel scanning, select the
TWO WAY
mode and the
SET SCAN
menu. Your channel/code
screen displays
h
and scrolls through channels when scanning is turned on.
Scan List
You can select which channels are to be scanned by putting them in a list. To set your scan list
after you turn on
SCAN
, select the
TWO WAY
mode and the
SCANLIST
menu. Your radio displays
IN
or
OUT
and a channel number. Use
x
to change the
IN
or
OUT
setting and
z
to scroll to the
next channel. Select
IN
to add the channel to your scan list, if you don’t wish to scan a certain
channel select
