SERVICE AND ADJUSTMENTS
FINAL SETTING -
•
Start engine and allow to warm lor five minutes. Make
final adjuBiments with engine running and shifi/motlon
conlrot lever in neirtrai (N) position.
•
Withthrotilecontroilevertnlastposltion, turn main tue!
adjusting needle in (clockwise) unfit engine begins to
die then turn out (counterclockwise) urtiit engine runs
rough. Turn needle to a point midway between Ihoas
two positions,
•
Idle speed seilina - With throttle control isvar in slow
position, engine should idle at 1400 RPM, If engine
¡dies too slow or fast, turn idie speed adjusting screw in
or out until correct Idle Is atlainad
•
Idle fuel needie Betfino - With throttle control lever In
stow position, lurrt idle fuel adjusting needle In (clock
wise) until engine begins to die and then turn out
(Gountarclookwise) u nfii engine runs roug h. Turn needle
to a point midway between those two positions
•
Recheck Idle speed Raacijust if necessary,
ACCElERATtON TEST -
• Move throllle control lever from slow to fast position. I!
engine hesitates or dies, turn idle mixture screw out
(counterclockwise) 1/0 turn. Repeat test and continue
to adjust, if necessary, until engine acoeierates
smoothly.
High speed stop Is factory adjusted. Do not adjust-damage
may result.
tMPORTANT: NEVER TAMPER WITH THE ENGINE
GOVERNOR, WHICH IS FACTORY SET FOR PROPER
EHGINESPEED, OVERSPEEDiNOTHE ENSiNE ABOVE
THE FACTORY HIGH SPEED SETTiNG CAN BE
DANGEROUS. IF YOU THINK THE ENGINE-GOVERNED
HIGH SPEED NEEDS ADJUSTING, CONTACT YOUR
