The following tables explain the disc types supported by
the DVD player.

Disc logo marks are printed on the disc and the disc jacket.

Do not load any other type of disc into the DVD player. Doing so
may damage the DVD player.

The DVD player can play:

– DVD+R/RW and DVD-R/RW discs recorded in

DVD-Video compatible format.

– DVD-RW discs recorded in VR format (compatible

with CPRM).

The DVD player can play the following data discs
(For MP3 and WMA files, the parenthetic words
represent the compatible sampling rate and bit
rate):

– MP3 files, recorded on CD-R/RW, DVD+R/RW and

DVD-R/RW (fs 32, 44.1, 48 kHz/96-320 kbps
(CBR only))

– WMA files, recorded on CD-R/RW, DVD+R/RW

and DVD-R/RW (When in fs 44.1 kHz: 64-192
kbps/When in 48 kHz: 128-192 kbps (CBR only))

– JPEG (except progressive JPEG) files, recorded on

CD-R/RW, DVD+R/RW and DVD-R/RW
(compatible resolution: 3072 x 2048 or less)

– DivX Video files, recorded on CD-R/RW,

DVD+R/RW and DVD-R/RW

– KODAK Picture CD
– FUJICOLOR CD
– Official DivX

®

Ultra Certified product

– Plays all version of DivX

®

video (including DivX

®

6) with enhanced playback of DivX

®

media files

and the DivX

Media Format

– ISO 9660 Level1/Level2 for CD-R/RW
– Up to 299 folders per disc and up to 648 files per

folder with 8 hierarchies

• The following discs cannot be played on the DVD player.

CD-ROM, DVD-ROM, DVD-RAM, CDV. (This product can
play some types of DVD-R (Video format only).)

• CD-R/RW, DVD+R/RW and DVD-R/RW cannot be played

unless finalized.

• Only the first session of DVD+R/R DL and DVD-R/RW/R DL

can be played.

• Copyright-protected WMA files cannot be played back with the

DVD player.

• Some discs cannot be played depending on the recording

conditions such as PC environment and application software.
Failure can also result from disc characteristics and condition,
like material quality, scratches or curvature.

• Do not use any non-standard sized or shaped (heart-shaped,

etc.) discs.

• Do not use discs with tape, seals, or paste on their surface.
• Do not use discs with many scratches on their surface.

DVD region codes

The region code (an ID number assigned to each market
region) is set for normal DVD players and DVD video
discs. The DVD player supports the discs with the region
codes shown in the table below. For details, read the
information on the disc jacket.
