*5 “PREFERENCE PAGE” is available only when no disc is loaded or the DVD player is in the stop mode (see page 25).
*6 The file names of the DivX movie and external subtitle should be identical (except extensions). The file extensions supported for
external subtitles are “.srt”, “.sub”, “.ssa”, and “.smi”. Some external subtitles may be displayed incorrectly depending on the disc
characteristics or recording conditions.
• Consumers should note that not all high definition television sets are fully compatible with this DVD player and may cause artifacts to
be displayed in the picture. In case of 525 or 625 progressive scan picture problems, it is recommended that the user switches the
connection to the “Standard Definition” output. If there are questions regarding your video monitor compatibility with this DVD
player, please contact our customer service center.
• The DVD player is compatible with the complete line of YAMAHA products, including the projectors DPX-1300, DPX-830 and the
plasma monitor PDM-4220.

VR LIST You can select the original list or play list used for playback of VR (Video Recording)
format discs. (Default: ORIGINAL LIST)
ORIGINAL LIST:
Select this to play the originally recorded titles on the disc.
PLAY LIST:
Select this to play the edited version of the disc. (This feature is available only when a
play list has been created.)
MP3/JPEG NAV You can enable or disable the navigator menu function when an MP3 disc or JPEG
disc includes the menu. (Default: WITH MENU)
WITHOUT MENU:
Displays all the files contained in the MP3 disc or JPEG disc.
WITH MENU:
Displays only the folder menu of the MP3 disc or JPEG disc.
DIVX SUBTITLE *6 You can select a language group to assign the desired font sets used as external
subtitles for DivX files. (Default: GROUP1)
GROUP1:
Albanian, Basque, Catalan, Danish, Dutch, English, Faroese, Finnish, French,
German, Icelandic, Irish, Italian, Norwegian, Portuguese, Rhaeto-Romanic, Scottish,
Spanish, Swedish
GROUP2:
Albanian, Croatian, Czech, Hungarian, Polish, Romanian, Slovak, Slovenian
GROUP3:
Bulgarian, Byelorussian, Macedonian, Russian, Serbian, Ukrainian
GROUP4:
Hebrew, Yiddish
GROUP5:

PBC You can enable or disable the auto-display function of the playback control (PBC)
menu for VCDs and SVCDs. (Default: ON)
ON: Displays the PBC menu automatically when a disc is played back.
OFF: Starts playback of a disc without displaying the PBC menu.
