SPRINGS

See Diagram D.

Position the axle so it is properly aligned with the trailer. Place the

springs on the topside of the spring pads welded to the axle. (See

Diagram D). Note the hook end of the spring must be mounted

to the rear of the trailer. Place a spring clamp on the top over the

spring bolt as shown. Next place the ½” x 6 ½” U-bolts over the top

of the clamp and spring allowing one to hang down in front of the

axle and one behind. Slide a spring pad over the threaded ends of

the U-bolts and apply ½” flange lock nuts. Tighten only enough to

hold in place. Repeat on other side of trailer.

AXLE

Place one of the spring bracket bushings into the rear of the spring

bracket and secure with a 9/16” x 3 1/4” hex bolt and hex lock nut.

Repeat in other spring bracket. Position the axle under the frame,

then hook the loop end of the spring around the bushings just in-

stalled. Note that if the axle is positioned too low when trying to

hook, the loops will not hook around the bushings.

Raise the front of the springs up so they align with the front hole

of the spring bracket. Secure in place with 9/16” X 3-1/4” hex bolts

and lock nuts. Repeat this process on the other spring.

Tighten all axle U-bolts and spring bolts not tightened at this time.

TANDEM AXLE BRAKE INSTALLATION

Cut the tape securing the brake line hose and clip to the axle. Place

the end of the brake line hose into the brake line bracket on the

spring bracket and secure with the clip. Remove the brass plug

and insert an inverted flare from the brake line kit into the brake line

hose (the opening in the side of the flare should be facing to the

front of the trailer once tightened). Uncoil only enough frame brake

line to make the connection to the top of the inverted flare. Remove

the plastic cap from the end of the frame brake line and secure to

the brake line hose.

For the second axle (front axle), locate in the brake line kit a brake

line mounting bracket and two self tapping screws. Mount the

bracket to the side frame of the trailer a couple of inches behind

the axle (if the axle should bottom out this will prevent breaking the

connection). Cut the tape on the axle holding the brake line hose

and clip. Insert clip into bracket and secure with the clip. Remove

the brass plug and from the brake line kit take the connection line

and thread into the brake line hose connection. Form the line in a

gradual radius to prevent kinking, a loop may need to be made to

take up excess line (the line can be formed around a pop can or

a spray paint can) place the other end of the line into the inverted

flare previously installed on the spring bracket. Go back and make

sure all connections are secure. Do not over tighten these connec-

tions are brass and will strip out and leak.

NOTE: The axle and enclosed lines and attached clusters have

brake fluid installed when assembly was made to protect inner parts

during shipping and storage. The complete system must be re-bled

to ensure that all the air has been removed from the brake system.

Remove the cap from the actuator and fill with brake fluid. Replace

the cap and follow the manufactures instructions for proper bleed-

ing procedures. Once complete remove reservoir cap and refill with

fluid before using trailer.

TIRE AND WHEEL ASSEMBLIES

Mount the tire and wheel assemblies using the ½” fine threaded

tapered lug nuts provided. Tighten to 85-95 ft/lb. of torque using the

rotation pattern as shown in the ShoreLandr’s Owners Manual.

Re-torque the lug nuts after 50 miles of driving and then periodi-

cally thereafter.
