TCP Access
Overview
TCP applications and internal servers can communicate securely through the TCP proxy function
provided by SSL VPN. H3C SecBlade SSL VPN gateways run TCP applications on specific ports,
including Telnet, desktop sharing, Outlook, and POP3/SMTP clients.
TCP-Based Applications
NOTE:
A TCP application client is automatically downloaded and installed after you log in. The
icon in the
notice area of the taskbar indicates it is running. The TCP application client is used by TCP-based
applications (TCP applications for short) such as Telnet to access remote servers.
After you log in, the usable TCP-based applications, if configured by the administrator, are displayed on
.

Configuring TCP Access
Before you access a remote host by using a TCP application, make sure that you have installed the
required terminal access programs, such as Telnet.exe, SSH.exe and Putty.exe.
Perform these tasks to access a remote host:
Task Remarks
Automatic
access
If the command line is correctly configured in the remote access service list by the
administrator, such as telnet 127.0.0.120 23, you can click the corresponding resource
name to launch the terminal access program.
Manual setup
Launch a terminal access program, and then type the local host address and port number
displayed in the remote access service list according to the IP address and port number of the
remote host.
