Activating licenses
This chapter describes the license activation procedure for the WX5004 through the Web interface.
Activation procedures for other access controllers are similar.
Building the network environment
1. Connect the Ethernet port of the AC to a PC by using a crossover Ethernet cable.

2. Assign an IP address (except for 192.168.0.100) to the PC. Ensure that the PC and the AC can
reach each other.
The default IP address of the AC's management Ethernet interface is 192.168.0.100. For example,
assign 192.168.0.2 to the PC.
3. Launch the browser and enter http://192.168.0.100 in the address bar.
The Web User Login page appears.
4. Enter admin for User Name and admin for Password, select English from the Language dropdown
list, and click Login.

Restrictions and guidelines
Standard and enhanced licenses are activated on different Web interfaces. Before activating your
license, check your activation key to determine whether you are activating a standard or an enhanced
license:
• If the activation key is a string of 20 characters, such as 0E60F01DD07102DE532C, you are
activating a standard license.
