5-1 Preventative Maintenance Schedule
Check Frequency
Check tightness of cutting chamber hold-down fasteners
(Refer to Section 3-6 on page 16) Daily
Check the tightness of screen cradle retainer knobs
(Refer to Section 5-4 on page 23) Daily
Check infeed flap position/condition (replace if necessary) Daily
Check position and condition of interlock actuator screws
(Refer to Section 3-6 on page 16 and Section 5-4 on page 23) Daily
Do housekeeping around work area Daily
Check tightness of upper chamber pivot arm screws
(520 NM, 366 ft. lbs.) Weekly
Check jackscrew travel adjustment: internal limit switches and chamber
mounting bracket limit switch
(Refer to Sections 5-5 and 5-6 on pages 25 - 28.) Weekly
Check that pivot pins and locknuts for jackscrews are tight
(Refer to Sections 5-5 and 5-6 on pages 25 - 28.) Weekly
Inspect overall condition of jackscrews
(Refer to Sections 5-5 and 5-6 on pages 25 - 28.) Weekly
Check zero speed sensor operation
(Refer to Section 5-6 on page 26) Weekly
Check knife clearance and wear.

Check that rotor and bed knife bolts have proper torque

Check lubrication. More frequent lubrication may be required
