Steam tracing economics can be greatly improved if temperature control options are considered. The use of large safety design
margins and the tendency to keep the tracing system live when there is no heat requirement should be avoided where possible.
Correct temperature control based on an assessment of the actual system needs should be provided where economically prac-
tical.
