Embedded Audio
The UDC-162 supports all four groups (16 channels) of embedded audio at full 24 bit resolution in
both SD (with extended data packets) and HD.
Documentation Terms
The following terms are used throughout this guide:
 “Frame” refers to the 8310 frame that houses the UDC-162 card.

“Operator” and “User” both refer to the person who uses the UDC-162.
 “Board” and “Card” all refer to the UDC-162 card itself, including all components
and switches.
 “System” and “Video system” refers to the mix of interconnected production and
terminal equipment in which the UDC-162 operates.
