The ID3 tag name can be chosen from a list and the value for that tag can consist of a persistent string for all
files processed by the instance, or specific tags can be chosen from “Tags” menu to access existing tags in the
source file or associated templates. For example, a “date” ID3 tag can contain the tag value “{date}.” The
same value as “{date}”can be made by using the values of “{year}/{month}/{day}”.
Folder Bot is able to parse XML metadata files associated with an input file or common to all files. To associate
XML metadata files with an input file, use {drive}, {path} and {name} tags to specify the XML file location
based on the input file location.
XML metadata files are parsed by Folder Bot and the data which the files contain is made available as
named
tags
. Here is an example XML metadata source file:
The
in Folder Bot, use the tag {XMLDAT/Artist}, constructing the tag value field using the tags as they appear
in the XML file. The title element would be available to Folder Bot as {XMLDAT/Title}. The tags are not case
sensitive
, {xmldat/title} can also be used to refer to the same field. To use the value provided by XML, type it
in the
Tag value
text box of the Tag Options window:
