The server has an internal database for administration of local users. These tools are adequate for a small
department or organization with a limited number of users.

Clicking on the Users tab will display a list of users and their Roles stored in the internal database.
The Users tab allows the addition and deletion of users and assignment of Roles to each user.

Larger organizations will typically have a centralized database of usernames, passwords and authorizations which
all applications will check for credentials.
The most common technology for this service is LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) or a similar system
used in Microsoft environments called Active Directory.
Configuring the server for access to these systems should be planned well in advance of actual service start.
A typical administration screen for an LDAP installation is shown below.
