Application in restorative treatment
1. A dry operating field must be ensured. Ideally, a rubber

dam should be used (e.g. the user-friendly OptraDam).

2. In very deep cavities, areas close to the pulp should be

selectively coated with a calcium hydroxide liner
(e.g. ApexCal) and subsequently covered with pressure-
resistant cement (glass ionomer cement, e.g. Vivaglass
Liner).

3. Unscrew the cap of the VivaPen
4. Attach the VivaPen brush cannula. By rotating the front

end of the pen, the prebent cannula can be brought into
the desired position for direct application of the
adhesive (see picture).

5. By activating the click mechanism several times the

VivaPen brush cannula is wetted with AdheSE One.
Upon wetting the brush cannula, the yellow colour of
AdheSE One becomes visible.

6. An adequate amount of AdheSE One is directly applied

to the cavity with the VivaPen. Starting with the enamel
portion, all cavity surfaces should be thoroughly coated.
Activate the click mechanism again if you wish to apply
more material. Once the cavity surfaces have been
completely coated, continue to brush the product into
the entire surface. The total reaction time should be no
shorter than 30 seconds.

7. Disperse excess amounts of AdheSE One with a strong

stream of air until there is no longer any movement of
the material.

8. Polymerize AdheSE One for 10 seconds at a light

intensity of more than 500 mW/cm

2

(e.g. bluephase in

the LOP mode).

9. Apply the restorative material (e.g. Tetric EvoCeram)

according to the instructions of the manufacturer.

10. Discard the used VivaPen brush cannula after

disinfecting the VivaPen using disinfectant spray or
wipes. Replace the VivaPen cap after each use. A new
VivaPen brush cannula must be attached for the next
application.

Note
– Do not use oxidizing disinfectants.
– Do not immerse the VivaPen in disinfectant solutions.
– After each use, the VivaPen needs to be disinfected

using disinfectant spray or wipes for hygienic reasons.
Additionally, the VivaPen can be protected against
contamination with the VivaPen sleeve.

– Do not use any other brush cannulas than VivaPen brush

cannulas.

Warning
– AdheSE One is an irritant. Contact with the skin, mucous

membranes or eyes should be avoided. In case of skin
contact, immediately wash with soap and water.

– If the material should come into contact with the eyes,

immediately rinse with copious amounts of water for at
least 15 minutes and consult a physician or ophthalmo-
logist.

– In rare cases, contact with the skin may lead to

sensitization towards the ingredients.

– Commercial medical gloves do not provide protection

against the sensitizing effects of methacrylamide.
