3 – Operation
Gouge profile
You can vary the gouge profile by varying the:
Speed of the torch over the workpiece
Torch-to-work standoff distance
Angle of the torch to the workpiece
Current output of the power supply
This section provides a 125 A gouging profile for reference, but the tips in
gouge profile (below) apply regardless of the power output. Refer to the Powermax65,
Powermax85, or Powermax105 Operator Manual for more information on gouging with
those power supplies.
