It is recommended that the machine be taken out of service once a year, stripped down and all
moving parts be cleaned, lubricated and inspected for wear and damage. All damaged and worn
parts should be replaced.
SETTING THE HYDRAULIC PUMP PRESSURE RELEASE VALVE
In the event that the pump release leaver is removed or the pump release pressure requires
adjustment use the following procedure.
1. Screw the pump release shaft fully clockwise (seated position), this can be done with or
without the leaver attached.
2. With the pump release shaft in the seated position, attach the release leaver at
approximately 10° from the horizontal position (see picture below). Tighten the release
leaver hardware securely.
3. To test the relief pressure raise the beveller with hydraulic pump, then release the pressure
by pushing down on the release leaver. The beveller should lower slowly & smoothly. If the
beveller lowers too quickly then repeated this procedure with mounting the leaver at a
steeper position (15° for example). If the beveller lowers too slowly then repeat this
procedure with release leaver at a position closer to horizontal (5° for example).
WARNING Do not allow the beveller to lower too quickly. This could cause damage to the under
carriage resulting in unsafe working conditions.
