A Metal Oxide Varistor (MOV) which is a “surge suppressor” device must remain
installed across the “R” and “C” thermostat terminals of the NRG Max 9103i Universal Oil Furnace
Control as shown in the wiring diagrams. This device will route voltage surges around the control and
will prevent damage to the NRG Max 9103i Universal Oil Furnace Control.
